    1. I also have 400 of cheap black garden hose hokeod to an $80 pump. I just layed out the hoses in our sunny rock area. The pump can cycle about 4,000 gallons a day, and the outcoming water is 6-8 degrees warmer than the incoming water from the pool. My pool is only 10,000 gallons, so bringing it up to 75-80 degrees only takes a few days. In the summer here in AZ, I can cool the water with the same pump, and run the hoses to little sprinkler heads. Just run it in the morning when the air is cool

    2. If you send too much flow you add pressure usiacensernly. Its not possible to send too little flow. Its true you want high flow for efficient operation but what is high flow? High flow for solar is low flow for the average pool with an oversized pool pump. Just feel the collectors to make sure there are no hot spots. That’s efficient. Sens so much flow you add load to the pool pump and you just add load and electricity cost and you pressurize the solar panels.

  3. Thanks Church! I built a pool heetar like yours only I used a water heetar thermostat from Home Depot set at 120 degrees F. The upper one with normally open contacts. I wrapped it with foil at the metal hose connector then duct taped so it will sense the temp. I covered both coils in clear plastic. I got a 10 degree gain. I used 325 feet 5/8 black hose. I put reflective material on the wood fence gains even more heat. Since Jesus won’t guarantee the GFI works I remove the pump when swimming.

  4. You don’t need a timer. You have to slow the flow rate of your pump so the water does not move so quickly troguhh the hose. What your doing is increasing the dwell time which is the amount if time the water makes contact with the hose. Buy a pump with a slower flow rate.
